About John Schwappach, M.D.

Dr. Schwappach was born and raised in Denver, CO. He attended the Colorado School of Mines and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering Chemistry. In 1989, Dr. Schwappach graduated with Honors from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency program at the University of Kansas. Dr. Schwappach then pursued a fellowship in Orthopedic Traumatology at the University of Washington, Haborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

Dr. Schwappach is a board-certified fellow with the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is published extensively in the orthopedic literature including articles based on his original research. Along with orthopedic trauma and fracture care, Dr. Schwappach also specializes in joint replacement surgery, post-traumatic reconstruction, pelvic/acetabular surgery, sports medicine injuries and clinical research.

 

 

Dr. Schwappach, through Global Health Initiatives, has shared his orthopedic skills with surgeons in Rwanda and Peru.
